Madalina Cojocari is still missing, and the only updates in this bizarre case seem to further imply the missing child’s mother and stepfather directly in her disappearance. Now authorities have revealed that the mother of the 11-year-old girl took a drive to the North Carolina Mountains shortly before reporting her missing. Meanwhile, several items have been taken as evidence from the home of the married couple. It certainly sounds like detectives are building a case against them, but could all of this mean?

Was Madalina Cojocari killed by her parents? According to the latest developments in the search for the missing child, it certainly looks like it’s a possibility. Cellphones and at least two dozen other items were taken from the home via search warrant by detectives, meaning they’re scouring the lives of the parents of Madalina, looking for clues behind where the child is. Meanwhile, Diana Cojocari and Christopher Palmiter remain behind bars on charges of failure to report a missing child to law enforcement. This failure to report their child missing stems from the fact that Madalina disappeared several weeks before police were even alerted.

Hopefully authorities have used cadaver dogs and other necessary tech in the search for this missing child — especially up in the mountains of North Carolina, where Diana Cojocari is presumed to have gone shortly before reporting Madalina missing. This child has already been missing since November 23, 2022 — and with each week that goes by, the likelihood of finding her gets slimmer and slimmer. That’s especially true if she’s been harmed and dumped somewhere in the wilderness.
