An Illinois man is behind bars after police say he murdered his own grandmother. The body 73-year-old Glenda Rusterholz was found in her home on Thursday morning after authorities were called about a disturbance at the residence. Now her cause of death has been revealed, indicating that her 28-year-old grandson brutally beat her before she died.

According to Central Illinois Proud, the cause of death in the homicide of Rusterholz has been declared by a coroner. She suffered from blunt force trauma consistent with an assault, which reveals that 28-year-old Cody A. Krause beat the elderly woman to death.

Krause has been charged with first degree murder, and is currently sitting in jail on bond in the amount of $2.5 Million. In other words, the man’s not going to get out anytime soon. If he’s found guilty of this murder charge, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
