What happened to Anita Grace Wechsler? The Calgary woman vanished in 2019, but detectives are still trying to get to the bottom of this disappearance. In fact, authorities are asking for assistance from the public in locating this woman — but with the details that are available, and the time that has passed, will anything positive happen in the search for this missing woman in a timely manner?

Missing People Canada reports that Anita Grace Wechsler has been missing since July 2019, but nobody reported her missing until nearly an entire year later in May 2020. The reasoning for this delay in reporting her disappearance, her family claims, is because Anita was known to drop in and out of contact for long periods of time. In other words, it’s not out of this woman’s character to go missing. This detail could spell disaster for the missing woman if she has met some kind of foul play or is in danger.

For all intents and purposes this disappearance is a cold case — but should it be? The delay in reporting her missing is truly troubling, and if she’s missing under negative circumstances this may only make it more difficult to find her — or find out what happened to her. Nonetheless, authorities in Calgary are doing what they can to solve this case. They’re asking the public to come forward with any information that may be useful in locating Anita or finding answers behind her disappearance. If you have any information at all, or if you believe you’ve seen something relative to the case, please contact Calgary Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
