A Las Vegas woman is making headlines after she was arrested for shoplifting at a local convenience store, but the theft isn’t what’s getting her some seriously negative attention. The woman is accused of using racially-hateful language toward a clerk, and even going as far as threatening to send her ‘KKK friends’ after him.
Fox 5 News reports that Jenna Lilly faces a laundry list of charges after the incident that occured at a 7-Eleven Convenience store on Tropicana. The Las Vegas woman was caught attempting to shoplift merchandise at the Eastside store, but a clerk caught her and attempted to handle the situation by stopping her. This resulted in Jenna Lilly allegedly brandishing a knife at the clerk before threatening to cut him. She also allegedly said that her “KKK friends” would come back to the store to deal with him.
Police were called on the woman, who fled from the store — but she didn’t get far. During her arrest she was reportedly “extremely uncooperative,” and hurled a number of “derogatory comments” to the arresting officers. The nature of those comments hasn’t been clarified or quoted by authorities.
Reports also aren’t clarifying on whether or not the threatened clerk is a person of color — but it’s safe to say that someone wouldn’t threaten to sick their white supremacist friends on a white cashier. What this heavily implies is that a potential hate crime took place when this woman threatened the clerk with a knife and while making racially-charged statements. For the time being, Las Vegas authorities have charged Jenna Lilly with a variety of weapons-related charges. They have not confirmed whether or not the Las Vegas woman will be facing any charges associated with the threats of sending her “KKK friends” to harm the 7-Eleven clerk.
