A California woman has been sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment after she was convicted of killing her stepfather. Jade Janks reportedly killed her stepfather back in 2020, after she discovered a stash of nude photos of her that the man had been collecting of her without her knowledge or consent. While her reaction was indeed over-the-top, it’s curious to see that her actions rendered the pervert a victim, and she a villain.

In 2020, Jade Janks allegedly discovered a collection of nude photos of her when she was cleaning her stepfather’s home. Upon discovering the collection of nudes — which were stashed on the man’s computer– she immediately went into revenge-mode, and tried to recruit the help of a friend to help her murder the man. That friend eventually bailed on her and then turned her in to the police after things evidently got too real for him. In the end, Janks drugged her stepfather before suffocating, strangling and choking him to death.

This was clearly a premeditated murder, which Jade not only planned but carried out to the very end. Because of that, she could have likely have gotten life imprisonment for her crimes. However, 25 years does seem a bit like the situation was taken into consideration. After all, this woman discovered a treasure trove of nude photos of her that she did not give this man permission to have in his possession. It’s incredibly violating and dehumanizing to know that someone — especially a stepparent — is keeping secret sexual photos and videos of you.

Hopefully this woman can find peace while serving her prison sentence.
