A Florida woman is in jail after she reportedly shot her uncle in the head during a family holiday party. To make matters worse, the 20-year-0ld woman appeared to do so with no provocation, but still gave a strange response when asked why she did it. This is just one of what seems to be an unending supply of insanity coming from the deep Southern state.
Law and Crime reports that Samantha Danielle Driggers admitted to shooting her uncle in the head on Thursday night while the family were gathered for a holiday get-together. Police say they arrived at the Beverly Hills, Florida residence in response to a 911 call, where they found Samantha Driggers waiting for them outside. The Florida woman reportedly told police that she shot the man because he “was going to hurt [her] Grandma.” Her story didn’t check-out, however, after witnesses were questioned.
According to family members, Samantha had only been at the residence for around an hour when the incident took place, during which time there was no known altercation. A family member told police that the victim was watching television while she was putting together a puzzle at the kitchen table. She claimed that Samantha was in a different room at the time. According to the witness, the Florida woman came from the room suddenly pointing a firearm at the victim’s face. When the witness attempted to intervene, Samantha Driggers pulled the trigger and shot her uncle in the head.
The Florida woman in this horrible case has only been charged with second degree murder, which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
