It’s always shocking to learn that a public figure, particularly a celebrity, has committed a heinous crime like murder. Here are five cases of celebrities who were convicted of murder:

O.J. Simpson: Perhaps one of the most famous celebrity murder cases in history, O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. However, in 1997, Simpson was found liable for their deaths in a civil suit.

Phil Spector: The legendary music producer was convicted of second-degree murder in 2009 for the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson. Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison.

Robert Blake: The former “Baretta” star was accused of murdering his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, in 2001. Although he was acquitted of criminal charges in 2005, he was found liable for her death in a civil suit and ordered to pay $30 million to her children.

Sid Vicious: The bassist for the punk rock band Sex Pistols was accused of murdering his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, in 1978. Although he was charged with the crime, he died of a heroin overdose before he could stand trial.

Don King: The boxing promoter was convicted of second-degree murder in 1966 for the killing of a man named Sam Garrett. King was pardoned in 1983 after serving just under four years in prison.

It’s important to remember that despite their fame and status, these celebrities were still capable of committing serious crimes. The justice system is designed to hold all individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of their social status.
