The search for Audreona Barnes is over on a negative note, with the reported discovery of her body in a vacant Cleveland apartment. Now there are more questions in this missing persons case — which has gone on for nearly a year. Was the missing Ohio woman murdered?

According to WKYC News, the remains of Audreona Barnes were located in a vacant apartment. More specifically, the missing woman’s body was found on the apartment balcony by an employee of the apartment complex while he was moving some clothes. Apparently the previous tenant had been evicted.

Authorities aren’t sharing how they think Audreona died, but they are treating her death as suspicious — which seems rather obvious. It’s incredibly suspicious that the 19-year-old girl disappeared close to a year ago — only to be found dead in someone’s apartment after they’d been evicted. Hopefully police track down the former tenant of this apartment so they can get to the bottom of things.

Audreona Barnes disappeared in July 2021 from the Cleveland area, after she was last seen meeting with Army recruiters. She had been living around the same location as where her body was found recently — with her boyfriend, who has been uncooperative with police. According to this report that was written earlier in the search for the missing woman, authorities were never able to search the apartment inhabited by the boyfriend. Was this the very same apartment where her body was found? As noted by authorities this week, her body was located in an apartment on Warner road. The body of Audreona Barnes was found in an apartment on that very same road. It sounds an awful lot like detectives have a mess on their hands.
