A Las Vegas man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his own mother nearly 20 times in a domestic violence situation gone horribly awry. The details of this case are still developing due to the chaotic nature of the incident, but it’s been gathered that 30-year-old Joshua Pouncey is being held in jail on bond in the amount of nearly $1 Million.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that police were called to a residence on Wednesday on report that someone had been stabbed. When they arrived, they found that Pouncey had allegedly stabbed a woman numerous times. Initial reports of the stabbing did not reveal the identity of the woman, but she has been identified as his mother in more recent reports.

The actual details surrounding the violent incident are chaotic and hard to follow, but evidently someone had threatened to call police — or had called police — during a heated domestic squabble between Joshua Pouncey, his mother and possibly other inhabitants of the home. The Nevada man became so infuriated at the idea of cops being called, that he grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing his own mother.

Fortunately, the woman was not killed during the incident, and is currently in the hospital recovering from numerous stab wounds. In the meantime, her son has been charged with attempted murder and several other associated charges.
