Do you recognize this man? The San Bernardino Police Dept. is seeking the man shown in these surveillance still-shots, after he reportedly showed up at the station with skeletal remains. He dropped off what were initially believed to be animal bones before disappearing. Now it’s been confirmed that a human jawbone was among the remains dropped off by the mysterious man. Who is he, and does the human jawbone once in his possession belong to a known missing person?

It’s totally bizarre, but it’s true. According to numerous media sources, an unidentified man dropped off a human jawbone at San Bernardino Police Department before disappearing. Now he’s being sought by authorities as the story goes viral on an international level. Nothing is known at this time about the identity of the human remains that were dropped off by the unknown man, but it’s easy to speculate that they remains could belong to any number of missing cases out of the state of California. To date, more than 3,200 people are missing according to the NAMUS database — and that’s not including the numerous cases that slip through the cracks and don’t even make it to NAMUS. Many of these people have been missing for many, many years.

Hopefully more information comes out soon about the human jawbone that was dropped off at the California police department — and hopefully they can find the man who dropped it off. What’s curious is that it’s been several hours — nearly an entire day — and the man hasn’t reportedly come forward yet. If this was a case of an innocent samaritan turning in skeletal remains that he discovered, wouldn’t he have come forward by now?
