The body of missing Ohio woman Anastasia Hamilton was located earlier this week, and now the circumstances of the discovery are gaining mass attention. It’s possible that Hamilton was murdered, but who did it? If she wasn’t murdered, then how exactly did her body come to be in an abandoned home in Cleveland?

Anastasia Hamilton had been missing since May 21 — just days before her body was located. According to NTD News, the woman was last seen on security footage near the 3660 block of East 54th Street in Cleveland at around 4:00 in the afternoon. The footage reportedly showed the the once-missing woman walking alongside an unidentified male. The identity of this man hasn’t been revealed by authorities, as it’s likely that they don’t have any idea who he is. At any rate, the discovery of the body of the missing Ohio woman has been deemed “suspicious.”

Her cause of death is pending, but this source confirms that authorities don’t believe she was abducted in the days leading up to the discovery of her body. The same media references the growing drug problem in Cleveland — in particular, the area of the city where Anastasia was last seen, and where her body was ultimately located. This seems to hint at the idea that drugs or drug trafficking played a role in her death. Meanwhile, other media reports that the woman’s body had lacerations and other apparent injuries.

Was Anastasia Hamilton murdered, or did her death come by other circumstances? Investigators and medical examiners are still trying to get to the bottom of what happened to her. Hopefully those answers come sooner than later.
