Gretchen Fleming is still missing, but there is a huge update in her case. Authorities, as of Wednesday, are searching the property inhabited by their one and only person of interest. That man has been identified in media reports as 55-year-old Preston Pierce.
According to WCHSTV News, police spent Wednesday searching the back end of the home inhabited by Pierce. Police hasn’t fully identified their POI by name, but the mainstream media — along with people on social media who claim to know the missing woman — have named him confidently. Preston Pierce is believed to be the older man that was spotted with Gretchen Fleming on the night that she was last seen exactly one month ago.
If authorities have found any evidence in the home of Preston Pierce, they haven’t share it yet. Meanwhile, they are still looking for a black SUV that might be connected to the disappearance of Gretchen Fleming. Detectives have confirmed, however, that they’ve executed several warrants in association with Pierce’s alleged involvement with Gretchen on the night she disappeared. Some of those warrants involve the searches of his home, any other properties he owns and his electronics and vehicles.
While the dig for evidence continues, one question should be asked: Are any ground searches being coordinated in hopes of finding Gretchen or clues leading to her whereabouts? A coordinated ground search of volunteers, police and a qualified Search-and-Rescue team might prove beneficial in this case.
