A tragic update in the Chaundra Walker disappearance reveals that the missing Texas woman was hit by a car and killed shortly after she was last in contact with loved ones. However, the discovery of the missing woman’s body — and her cause of death — aren’t really answering every question surrounding this tragic case.

Police in Hondo, Texas posted on their Facebook page that the body of Chaundra Walker was found, and that she’d been hit by a car shortly after speaking to a friend on the phone. During the phone call, which has been widely reported, the once-missing woman complained that she was out of gas. The friend that last spoke to her told police that she heard a man talking to her in the background. The identify of this man is still not known, but this news report claims that the phone call between Chaundra and her friend “cut-off” when the unidentified man approached her.

What should be asked at this point is whether or not Chaundra Walker was hit by a car on accident, or through an act of criminal violence. This news report clarifies that authorities in the San Antonio area believe that this was a tragic accident. They spoke to the driver of the truck that hit Chaundra, and he has reportedly been cooperative. Something stands out in the report, however, and that’s the statement that the driver in this accident didn’t see that “Chaundra had fallen down” before he hit her. So why, exactly, did Chaundra Walker fall down? Was she already injured? Was she disoriented? Was she running from something or someone? Again, the identification of the unknown man heard in the last phone call with this now-deceased woman, is probably an important detail. The death of the Texas woman might have very well been an accident, but something about this story reeks.
