The search for missing woman Adamaris Garcia continues into day four, with no evident clues leading to what might have happened to her. However, there are some updates in the investigation, while her loved ones plea to the public for information. Will investigators find what they’re looking for via security footage?

According to NBC News New York, detectives who are investigating the disappearance of Adamaris are looking for security footage of the areas where she was last seen. The missing woman’s mother did an interview on Telemundo 47, during which she claimed that authorities were going to find out what happened to her this way. She said the following:

“Investigators say there are going to go there to find out what happened through cameras — to check if she got off the train or took another train or what happened.”

Security footage often plays a role in tracing the last known steps of a missing person, and it’s fortunate that there are security cameras in the areas where this missing woman was last known to be. However, there is always the possibility that the footage might not be as helpful as you’d hope. The footage might show the missing person, or even show a direction they’re heading — and even show people who might have interacted with them leading up to their disappearance. Once the missing person is out of range of any cameras, however, the footage becomes little more than a lead. Hopefully, in the case of Adamaris Garcia, security footage leads to a positive and swift end to the search.
