Authorities in Tulalip, Washington are looking for a missing Indigenous woman who has been missing for nearly an entire month. Twenty-five-year-old Raven Rice was reportedly last seen at the Tulalip Casino on December 6th, but hasn’t been in contact with any of her loved ones since that night.

KHQ News reports that Raven Rice is an at-risk missing person, but very few details are available in this developing case. There are no available descriptions of her clothing from the night she was last seen, nor are there any details about a vehicle or if she was seen with anyone the night she disappeared.

Raven Rice is an Indigenous woman in a state with a growing list of missing Indigenous people. According to this report written back in May 2022, at least 54 Indigenous people are recorded as missing people in Washington state, making it home to the 2nd highest number of missing Indigenous people. The actual number of missing and murdered Indigenous women is actually far higher on a larger scale. Between the United States and Canada, Native American women become victims of crime in large numbers while falling through the cracks of justice. This must stop.

If you’ve seen Raven Rice or if you think you know what might have happened to her, please do not hesitate to call 911 immediately. It has been nearly a month since anyone has seen or heard from her, and the more time that passes without answers the less likely she will be located safely and alive. The fact that it’s taken nearly a month for her disappearance to even attract public attention is another reminder that MMIW don’t get the attention they deserve.
