Have you seen this missing child? Authorities in DeSoto, Texas are looking for 13-year-old Avery Potts, who hasn’t been seen since March 7th. It’s now been over a full week and the Texas teen is still missing with no clues indicating where she might be. Is this another case of a runaway teenager — or was Avery Potts kidnapped?

NBC 5 News reports that the Center for Missing and Exploited Children is requesting assistance from the public in locating 13-year-old Avery Potts. The teenager was reportedly last seen on March 7th while leaving school. She never made it home that day, and police believe that she could either still be in the DeSoto area — or might have traveled to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They are not sharing any clues or evidence which has led them to believe that this missing teenager is voluntarily missing, however.

Avery Potts is described as a biracial female, 5’7″ and approximately 170 lbs., with dark hair and eyes. She has not been in contact with her loved ones in over a week after failing to return home from school — which is something that should spark immediate panic. Nonetheless, police in DeSoto seem to believe that this 13-year-old girl is a runaway. Whether the police believe this or not — she is still just a 13-year-old child, and is in immediate danger since she has been gone for over a week. This missing teen could have run into any host of problems over the past several days.

If you’ve seen this missing child, or if you think you know where she’s at or what might have happened to her — do not hesitate to call DeSoto police at 972-223-6111. Any information could be useful in making sure that this teenager is safe.
