The remains of Kara Nichols were finally found this year — a decade after she went missing. Now there are new updates in the case revealing her cause of death. There is no doubt that the missing Colorado woman was murdered, and now a man is sitting in jail on 2nd degree murder charges.

KOAA News 5 reports that Kara Nichols cause of death has been determined as strangulation, indicating that the man accused of killing her strangled her until she died before hiding her body in a wooded area. The suspect, Joel Hollendorfer, was arrested not long after the discovery of Kara’s body in February of this year. What isn’t being publicized is exactly what happened that led to Kara and Joel encountering one another, and why this man killed her.

Closure is in reach for the family of Kara Nichols, even though they’ve waited a decade just to find out what happened to her. Now here’s to hoping justice is served — though no amount of criminal punishment could ever match the loss of their loved one.
