A cold case out of Pinal County, Arizona remains unsolved for just over a decade, and the lack of publicity isn’t helping. The skeletal remains of at least two adults and multiple children were located in the remote desert backdrop of Pinal County in 2012, but no media reports appear to exist about the grisly discovery — and nobody seems to be talking about it at all. Who were these people, and how did they end up in a discarded pile in the Arizona desert?
The NAMUS database shares that the horrifying find was made on January 20, 2012 in an area around what is called the 7B Nature Trail — a remote desert hiking spot near the town of Florence, Arizona. The circumstances of how the discovery was made aren’t readily available, but what is known is that a pile of skeletal remains were located. According to the NAMUS report, the bones appeared to have been gathered and stacked in a pile by an unknown party. Only partial remains were found of at least two adults and what is being called “several” children — but the exact number of children hasn’t been concluded. It isn’t known as to how long the remains were in the Pinal County location, but the NAMUS report indicates that the unidentified decedents might have died sometime in the 1990s.
Some research about this strange case found no media coverage about the discovery of what appears to be a mass gravesite. There also don’t appear to be any press releases or attempts made by Pinal County authorities to notify the public of this find. Now that it’s been a decade, the entire case appears to be completely unknown — other than the single NAMUS profile that exists. That same report also shares that there were no missing persons reports on file that would prove similar to the discovery of several deceased children and two adults.
