Almost nine years ago, Arika Hall vanished from Canton, Ohio under highly suspicious circumstances. She was 23-years-old at the time of her disappearance, and had just been assaulted by her boyfriend the day before she vanished without a trace. The missing woman would be in her early 30s by now, but it's highly unlikely that she'll be found alive. Nonetheless, her loved ones are still clinging to hope that this cold case will find new life.
Cleveland 19 News reports that Arika Hall is still missing after nearly nine years since she was last seen getting into a car with an unknown man. This last-known-sighting has been a haunting circumstance of the missing woman's case, which has persisted for nearly an entire decade. Arika had struggles with drug addiction and poor choices in men, but was still struggling to better her life. Shortly before her disappearance in February 2016, she dropped out of Paul Mitchell Beauty School and succumbed further to her substance abuse issues (Percocet and heroin). Following this, she was assaulted by her boyfriend -- who hasn't been identified to the public. It's also never been confirmed whether or not the man she was last seen with was her boyfriend. It's interesting that the identity of the man who assaulted her isn't publicly available or shouted about far-and-wide -- especially with how long it's been since she disappeared.
The disappearance of Arika Hall is a cold case, but her loved ones are still searching for answers. Meanwhile, investigators on the case haven't shared much over the past few years. In 2021, the missing woman's family asked a judge to declare her legally dead, but there have been no updates on whether or not they have ever been successful with this endeavor.
So what happened to Arika Hall? Was she murdered after suffering an assault by the hands of her boyfriend? Did some mysterious stranger lead her to foul play? Or did her own drug problems catch up with her in a permanent way? Hopefully another decade doesn't go by before authorities -- and her loved ones -- have the answers they need.
