Amanda Knox has been living freely in the United States for the past several years, after she was exonerated in the murder of Meredith Kercher. Of course she had previously been found guilty -- a fact which has kept people divided on whether or not she's truly innocent. You'd think potentially getting away with murder -- or at the least escaping a potentially unjust imprisonment -- would be enough to humble the woman. That isn't the case, though.
Now Amanda Knox is trying to cash-in on the case that hurled her into True Crime infamy, which has angered a lot of people. In particular, residents of Perugia, Italy -- as well as the loved ones and supporters of Meredith Kercher -- are outraged that Knox is filming "her story" in the setting where the murder took place.
Yahoo News reports that Amanda Knox has been filming a series in Perugia detailing her side of the story. Multiple residents have expressed their disgust at the project, labeling it as disrespectful to the memory of Meredith Kercher. Kercher, who was once the flatmate of Amanda Knox, was brutally murdered 17-years-ago in a case that gained immediate worldwide attention. Knox, her former boyfriend and a friend of their were all three convicted in the slaying of Kercher. After two more retrials, Knox and her ex were ultimately exonerated, but their co-defendant Rudy Guede remained convicted.
What's ironic about this whole situation, is that Knox recently did an interview in which she spoke out against the True Crime genre, staying that she felt "utterly exploited." Now she's taken it upon herself to haunt the town of Perugia with cameras and bad actors, creating more of a circus surrounding Meredith's death -- and she's capitalizing off the entire thing.
