A North Carolina woman has been arrested after police say she kidnapped an elderly man and strangled him earlier this week. The unnamed victim is lucky to be alive after the incident, but is currently hospitalized for his injuries.
Several news sources report that 40-year-old Brandy Scarboro has been charged with several felonies associated with the May 14th incident. Police say they were called to the Moore Regional Hospital in West End, North Carolina on a report that an elderly man had been admitted with injuries that were related to an assault. It took authorities until the following day to track down Scarboro, who was quickly arrested. Sadly very few details are available about the incident, such as a possible motive or whether or not the North Carolina woman was related to or associated with the victim.
What is known at this time is that Brandy Scarboro has been charged with the following:
- Felony second degree kidnapping
- Felony neglect of a disabled person
- Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury
- Felony abuse of a disabled or elder person
- Felony assault by strangulation
In other words, Brandy Scarboro is facing some serious legal consequences if she is found guilty of the crimes she is accused of committing. Meanwhile she is sitting behind bars at Moore County Detention Center, where she is being held without bond.
