A California woman is behind bars after police say she stabbed her own mother to death — and she livestreamed the entire thing on Facebook Live. Police say 28-year-old Tonantzyn Oris Beltran was “soaked in blood” when they arrived on the scene of the fatal event.
ABC News 7 reports that police in San Rafael arrived at the scene of the stabbing while responding to calls from concerned witnesses about “a physical fight and stabbing.” When they arrived, they were made immediately aware that Beltran was on the balcony of her apartment. The California woman was holding a knife in her hand, and was bloodied. She was standing next to the unresponsive body of her 55-year-old mother.
Once authorities were able to gain access to the balcony, Beltran was arrested and her mother was rushed to a nearby hospital. It was there that she was pronounced dead after succumbing to her numerous injuries.
Police in San Rafael say the woman livestreamed the entire incident with her phone, and that several people had viewed the violent incident on Facebook Live. Meta has since-removed the post, but it is now evidence in the case against Tonantzyn Oris Beltran.
