Las Vegas man Accused of Multiple Violent Rapes

  A Las Vegas man has been arrested in association with several violent rapes of local prostitutes, and authorities are seeking help in locating other possible victims. Police say 29-year-old Denver Baoec-Ascuncion was arrested earlier this month after multiple women came forward recounting recent incidents of kidnapping and sexual assault. 8 News Now reports that the 28-year-old Las Vegas man faces multiple counts , and there may be other victims. Two separate prostitutes between December 20th and January 7th reportedly told police that Ascuncion picked them up and forced them into sexual acts. Both alleged victims claimed that the Las Vegas man used a firearm to threaten them. Non-virtual sex work (i.e., physical prostitution) is a dangerous line of work, especially in large cities like Las Vegas -- where rates of non-virtual sex work have increased by 50% in recent years. Missing Since January: Where is Margaret Barrett?

Authorities in Texarkana are looking for a woman who hasn’t been seen since January. Margaret Barrett vanished sometime around January 20th, and hasn’t been in touch with her loved ones since. Now they’re appealing to the public for help while law enforcement officials begin their investigation into her disappearance. What happened to this missing woman — and is it too late for her to be found safe and alive with all the time that’s passed?

According to KSLA News, Margaret Barrett was last seen in late January, possibly in the Texarkana area. Her loved ones, who live in Louisiana have not heard from her since this time. There is also very little information available in this developing case, which is making it even harder to speculate on a positive outcome in the search for the missing woman. Kentucky woman Torilena May Fields has been arrested after police say she murdered her mother in a shocking and gruesome crime. Police say the 32-year-old not only shot and stabbed her 68-year-old mother, but she dismembered her and then tried to cook her body parts until they were charred. The Daily Mail reports that 32-year-old Torilena May Fields was arrested last week after a bizarre confrontation with authorities, who discovered a horrific scene at the home of her 68-year-old mother.
