A missing woman’s body has been recovered in a south Ohio landfill after her boyfriend reportedly choked her to death during an argument and disposed of her in a dumpster. This brings the brief search for the woman to a bitter end, after her loved ones reported her missing and pushed for answers behind her disappearance. This story also sheds a light on the issues of domestic violence and the lack of resources for victims.
According to People Magazine, the body of Renee Benedetti was recovered at a landfill in Georgetown after a brief search for the missing woman. The discovery was made after the slain woman’s boyfriend confessed to killing her and disposing of her body. Authorities say that Gene Scott Jr. admitted to choking the woman while the two were arguing, which resulted in her death. He then wrapped her body in a rug and then disposed of it in a dumpster, which is how she ultimately ended up in the Georgetown landfill.
Gene Scott Jr. has been charged in association with the murder of Renee Benedetti. Hopefully the loved ones of this once-missing woman can find justice for what happened to her.
