A Las Vegas mother is frantically searching for her adult son after he was reportedly last seen after getting arrested in January. Collin Best is 27-years-old and reportedly suffers from diminished mental capacity as well as bipolar disorder and a thyroid condition. The missing Las Vegas man’s mother is desperately seeking any information that might lead to his whereabouts. Meanwhile, she’s accusing the Las Vegas Police Department of being too slow to act on his disappearance.
Collin Best was reportedly last seen around January 28th when he was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was released by the authorities shortly after his arrest, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. His mother says that the police mishandled his arrest due to the fact that the 27-year-old Las Vegas man is mentally disabled who cannot be on his own. Best’s mother is his court-appointed legal guardian, even though he is considered an adult in age, due to the severity of his mental condition and his reliance on her care.
The Las Vegas mom says that she believes her son was in the middle of a psychotic episode, and possibly a “thyroid storm,” at the time of his arrest. She is horrified that the authorities with Las Vegas Metro Police not only failed to call her when he was arrested, but then released him to disappear without any supervision or care.
To make matters worse in the disappearance of Collin Best, his mother says that Las Vegas authorities are refusing to show body cam footage of his arrest. Furthermore, police security footage surrounding his time in jail has been deleted. The Las Vegas mother says that the police believe that Collin might have gotten on a bus and left Las Vegas, but she is suspicious given their handling of his disappearance thus far.
This is certainly a suspicious case, and if the mother’s suspicions are even half-right, then the police here in Las Vegas have some explaining to do. Meanwhile, Collin Best is still missing with no end in sight for the search for him.
