Police in Illinois are looking for an unidentified woman who was dragged away from a gas station in front of a clerk in Dolton. This is still a developing story, so the details are slim. However, authorities are working with the FBI in order to find this woman and get her to safety. Time might be running out for the kidnapped woman, however, as the circumstances surrounding this story seem to indicate.
Fox News reports that an unidentified woman ran into a gas station in Dolton, Illinois on Sunday afternoon, begging for help from the clerk that was inside. The clerk says that the woman was beaten, bruised and bloodied — with at least one bandaged injury on her body. The woman told the clerk that she’d met a man on a cellphone dating app, but he was now holding her against her will. Within moments of the woman coming into the gas station, however, an unidentified man came in and dragged her away.
The clerk at the gas station said that the man said “that was enough” to the woman before dragging her to his white vehicle and speeding away from the premises. The clerk called the police, but by the time authorities responded the man and his apparent victim were long-gone. Now police in Dolton are working with the FBI on the hunt for this man and the woman he might be holding captive. Nothing is known about the alleged kidnapping victim at this time, other than that she is a black woman. Surveillance footage of the vehicle shows a white SUV, or possibly a minivan, but the image isn’t enough to make a proper identification at this time.
If you know anything about Sunday’s incident, or if you believe you might have sighted the vehicle or the injured woman, please call 911 immediately.
