A Las Vegas family, along with multiple neighbors on Airdrie Place near Nellis & Tropicana, say that a neighbor on their street brutally murdered their beloved pet cat with a hammer — and there are witnesses. The cat, which belonged to an older couple in the neighborhood, was pictured by a witness with horrifying injuries, which left a bloody mess on the otherwise quiet street on the Eastside of town. Now neighbors, along with the traumatized witnesses, are demanding justice — but the Las Vegas police are apparently refusing to do anything about this shocking case of animal cruelty.
In a post made to the Nextdoor app on Monday, a horrified resident on the street called Airdrie Place shared shocking images of the cat moments after it died in what she described as an outright attack by a woman that lives in the house next door to her. She and her mother witnessed the cat frantically running from the woman’s home with the neighbor following behind it. When the woman saw that there were witnesses outside of their homes, according to one resident, she ran back into her home and wouldn’t come back outside. The cat ran from the home and made it to the driveway before collapsing and dying of its horrifying injuries in front of the neighbor and her mother.
In a subsequent post made by another woman on Tuesday, it was revealed that someone on Airdrie Pl. violently killed her grandparents’ cat with a hammer. In the post made to the Next Door app, the woman said that she’d returned home from a late shift to find what had happened from her inconsolable loved ones. To make things even worse for the family, when the police were called to the home they reportedly refused to file any charges against the neighbor due to a so-called lack of evidence.
Neighbors on Airdrie Pl. and surrounding streets in the Nellis & Hacienda community on Nextdoor are completely infuriated and heartbroken that an animal abuser is living in their area without any consequences to their actions. Some have even shared that the specific neighbor accused of killing the cat has been an ongoing problem on Airdrie Pl., such as disposing of motor oil in the yard and other offenses. This latest incident is more than enough for residents in the neighborhood to want them gone, gone gone! Unfortunately, they feel powerless after those who are paid by our tax dollars to “serve and protect” are refusing to do anything about the felonious act of animal cruelty that took place this week.
