In May 2017, an Alabama woman named Susan Lynn Osborne went missing along with her teenage son (named Evan Eric Chartrand). The circumstances of this disappearance have always been suspicious, and the most suspicious element in the entire case is this missing woman’s husband. Nonetheless, it’s now 2023, and the man at the center of a truly suspicious disappearance has never been declared a suspect.
When Susan Osborne and her son Evan were reported missing, it was her family who first alerted the police to her disappearance. Her husband Jerry Osborne claimed that his wife left him and took her son from a previous relationship with her. However, the young daughter the married couple shared was left behind with the husband. This immediately piqued the suspicion of the missing Alabama woman’s family. To make matters worse they learned that someone had dropped off Susan’s beloved dogs at an animal shelter, something else she’d never voluntarily do.
Over the course of the investigation and search for this missing woman and boy, evidence of blood was found in the home of Jerry Osborne. Other evidence revealed that Susan discovered that Jerry had worked as a gay escort before they met. She’d intended on divorcing him as a result of this. There was also evidence of domestic abuse in the marriage, as Susan once warned a friend not to text her because her husband was monitoring her texts.
During the summer of 2017 following her disappearance, neighbors noticed the husband of Susan Osborne burning furniture and other items in his yard. It was also revealed that he remodeled the house after Susan and her son disappeared.
Jerry Osborne is considered a person of interest in his wife’s disappearance, but not a suspect. After all these years that have passed, what can happen to change the status of this case? The overwhelming majority of people familiar with this case are shocked that an arrest hasn’t been made yet, and the only logical person to arrest is the husband of Susan Osborne.
