Police believe missing Cohasset woman Ana Walshe is in danger, and have expressed to the public that this disappearance is out of character for her. The missing woman disappeared on New Year’s Day, and after a week the search continues for her — with no known clues to lead to her possible whereabouts. What happened to Ana?
According to New York Post, Ana Walshe was last seen getting into a rideshare at her home at approximately 4:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day. She was reportedly on her way from her Cohasset, MA home to her job at a real estate firm in Washington, D.C. She never made it to her destination. Media reports aren’t sharing which rideshare service Walshe used when she disappeared, so it’s probably safe to assume that investigators are actively looking into any possible connections — if there are any.
The loved ones of the missing MA woman say that she’s a devoted family woman with three young sons and a husband. She’s been described as a loyal wife and loving mother who’d never voluntarily leave them behind for any amount of time. Detectives are in agreement that this disappearance doesn’t seem to be in character for the missing woman.
“It’s not normal she is missing. We automatically feel she is in danger by the mere fact she is missing,” said Cohasset Police Chief William Quigly.
While investigators say they haven’t found evidence of foul play, it should be noted that Walshe’s cellphone has been shut off since the day she was last seen. Officials say she “has left no digital footprint” over the course of her disappearance. Even though there is no evidence of foul play, this lack of digital activity could be evidence of such, in and of itself. She hasn’t used any of her bank accounts or credit cards since she vanished, either. So either Ana Walshe has gone off the grid entirely, or something horrible has happened to her.
