When Rachel Castillo disappeared several days ago, it was made immediately clear that she was in some kind of danger. As previously reported here on The Justice Voice, a “significant amount of blood” was located in the home of the missing Simi Valley woman when police were alerted to her disappearance. Now her body has been discovered, and a man once-close to her has been charged with killing her.
The Los Angeles Times reports that 25-year-old Zarbab Ali, of Hawthorne, has been charged with first degree murder after evidence has implicated her directly in the once-missing woman’s death. Police say Ali used a knife to kioll the 25-year-old mother of two before disposing of her body — where she was ultimately discovered after a brief search.
The two were going through a divorce at the time of the murder, but it had not yet been finalized. It is unclear if this divorce served as any kind of motivation for the killing of Rachel Castillo. Prosecutors do believe, however, that the crime was premeditated.
