Las Vegas man Accused of Multiple Violent Rapes

  A Las Vegas man has been arrested in association with several violent rapes of local prostitutes, and authorities are seeking help in locating other possible victims. Police say 29-year-old Denver Baoec-Ascuncion was arrested earlier this month after multiple women came forward recounting recent incidents of kidnapping and sexual assault. 8 News Now reports that the 28-year-old Las Vegas man faces multiple counts , and there may be other victims. Two separate prostitutes between December 20th and January 7th reportedly told police that Ascuncion picked them up and forced them into sexual acts. Both alleged victims claimed that the Las Vegas man used a firearm to threaten them. Non-virtual sex work (i.e., physical prostitution) is a dangerous line of work, especially in large cities like Las Vegas -- where rates of non-virtual sex work have increased by 50% in recent years. Of the thousands of unsolved cases of missing and murdered people in the United States — and worldwide — a small number involve notorious and even famous people. It seems absurd that a celebrity can go missing, never to be found — and it’s absolutely mindblowing that there are celebrity murders that remain unsolved. Nonetheless, there are cases of famous people who have vanished without a trace, or whose murderers got away with it. The following list of cases highlight the unsolved murders and disappearances of celebrities.

Rico Harris: Missing

Harris was once famous for being a player for the Harlem Globetrotters, though this career was short lived due to a number of personal issues. The 37-year-old athlete disappeared in October 2014 after he was last seen by family after a brief visit. The circumstances of this man’s disappearance are confusing, which is why his case remains unsolved even as late as 2022.

Thelma Todd’s mysterious death

Thelma Todd was a sex symbol in the earliest days of Hollywood who had acted in several roles and became a bit of a socialite as well. So when she was discovered dead in her own car in December of 1935, people were shocked and heartbroken. The blonde beauty was only 29-year-old at the time of her death, which remains unsolved to this day. There have been a multitude of theories surrounding her unsolved death, but most people ascertain that Todd was murdered.

Kentucky woman Torilena May Fields has been arrested after police say she murdered her mother in a shocking and gruesome crime. Police say the 32-year-old not only shot and stabbed her 68-year-old mother, but she dismembered her and then tried to cook her body parts until they were charred. The Daily Mail reports that 32-year-old Torilena May Fields was arrested last week after a bizarre confrontation with authorities, who discovered a horrific scene at the home of her 68-year-old mother.
