Las Vegas man Accused of Multiple Violent Rapes

  A Las Vegas man has been arrested in association with several violent rapes of local prostitutes, and authorities are seeking help in locating other possible victims. Police say 29-year-old Denver Baoec-Ascuncion was arrested earlier this month after multiple women came forward recounting recent incidents of kidnapping and sexual assault. 8 News Now reports that the 28-year-old Las Vegas man faces multiple counts , and there may be other victims. Two separate prostitutes between December 20th and January 7th reportedly told police that Ascuncion picked them up and forced them into sexual acts. Both alleged victims claimed that the Las Vegas man used a firearm to threaten them. Non-virtual sex work (i.e., physical prostitution) is a dangerous line of work, especially in large cities like Las Vegas -- where rates of non-virtual sex work have increased by 50% in recent years. Remember Kim Davis? Court Rules Against Homophobic Clerk

Kentucky clerk Kim Davis is back in the news after getting attention for being too homophobic to do her job. Last week a judge ruled against her in a lawsuit that was brought against her by one of the people who were denied the right to marry when she was employed by the state of Kentucky.

Fox News reports that Kim Davis was found guilty of violating the civil rights of same sex couples after she was ordered to assign marriage certificates to them. This is an excellent update after she caused so much unnecessary pain to people who just wanted to experience their constitutional right to marry the person they loved.

When Kim Davis was first notified that she was going to be sued, she arrogantly stated that she had some kind of “qualified immunity.” She learned that she had no such thing on Friday when she was held accountable for her illegal and right-violating actions. Her reaction to the recent court ruling hasn’t been reported yet, but it would actually be interesting to see what she has to say for herself. Does she still really feel justified in denying couples the right to marry?

This rumor can be traced to a tweet made by an account posing as a verified media source -- and it's not very likely that the source is legitimate. Kentucky woman Torilena May Fields has been arrested after police say she murdered her mother in a shocking and gruesome crime. Police say the 32-year-old not only shot and stabbed her 68-year-old mother, but she dismembered her and then tried to cook her body parts until they were charred. The Daily Mail reports that 32-year-old Torilena May Fields was arrested last week after a bizarre confrontation with authorities, who discovered a horrific scene at the home of her 68-year-old mother.
