Missing Nevada woman Naomi Irion still hasn’t been located, but new details have come to light in this viral case. According to the family of the missing woman, she was using various dating apps leading up to her disappearance — and may have gone on a date with an unknown man in the days just before she was allegedly kidnapped.
The Daily Mail reports that Naomi Irion was using dating apps and “exploring her freedom” in the United States after coming from South Africa. Her family has described her as a “naive” girl, who had lived a sheltered life overseas with a diplomat for a father.
Unfortunately, the missing Nevada woman had also been complaining of sexual harassment in her workplace. She was working for Panasonic, where she took a shuttle from Fernley to for her shifts. The Fernley Walmart parking lot where she waited for her shuttle is the last place she was seen — where an unidentified man was spotted on security footage getting into her vehicle.
Authorities and family members of Naomi Irion believe she was kidnapped — but the identity of her captor is unknown. With all of these new developments in her case it’s definitely going to be difficult to pinpoint where her kidnapper originated. Was this a man she had met on one of the popular dating apps that she used? Or was this someone that worked with her — someone who had been harassing her that was also employed by Panasonic?
Naomi has been missing now for nearly two entire weeks, and the only publicized evidence in this case is the abandoned car found parked by the Sherwin Williams in Fernley. Police say evidence taken from Naomi’s abandoned vehicle indicated that she may be the victim of a crime. What was the nature of this evidence? Was DNA evidence taken from the vehicle? Authorities on this case are being tightlipped — and possibly for very good reason. Until Naomi Irion is found, she is in grave danger.
