A Florida woman is in jail and her child is in the care of DCFS after police say the tot was left to wander along a busy roadway. Now the woman is facing several charges and could potentially lose custody of her child altogether.
North Escambia News reports that 24-year-old Hannah Rolin was found to be the mother of a child that was found wandering along a busy Cantonment road and getting dangerously close to the busy traffic. Witnesses who called police claimed that there were no adults anywhere in sight that could’ve been supervising the young child. The good Samaritans cared for the child and called authorities, who quickly arrived to discover that the young child was injured and neglected. According to reports the child had cuts on their feet and hands, and had a diaper that was so full of feces that it was leaking out of from the waist and leg hole areas.
Police say they were able to locate Hannah Rolin when she emerged from a vacant home that is known to be inhabited by homeless squatters. They say when the Florida was apprehended she became insanely combative and tried to headbutt the arresting officers. She then reportedly headbutted a car window out of anger.
The child has been removed from the woman’s care and she is being charged with child neglect and resisting arrest. She is currently in jail on $10k bond, while her child is getting the care they need in the custody of DCFS.
